BYS Girls 2019 Fast Pitch Softball Travel Tryouts - Starting 7/23

** BYS Girls Fast Pitch Softball Travel Tryouts **
It’s that time of year again and tryout dates have been set for girls looking to participate in the 2019 BYS Travel Fast Pitch program.

BYS's Travel Fast Pitch program is a year-round travel program consisting of 4 age groups:
10U (2008-2009 birthdays)
12U (2006-2007 birthdays)
14U (2004-2005 birthdays)
18U (2000-2003 birthdays)

The BYS travel program is a competitive fast pitch league that travels around the local community (within an hour or so) to compete against the best fast pitch players in each local community.  Depending on the team and the coach, some teams may also enter into local tournaments so that the girls can experience the excitement of the tournament atmosphere in addition to the competitiveness of their regular season.  

Each team will play somewhere between 20 and 50 games depending on the division they are in, experience level they are at and number of tournaments that they are entered into.  New for the 2019 season is the addition of a 14U Emerald Necklace “A” level team who will also be competing in numerous high-level tournaments throughout the year.  This team will be open to anyone, including a limited number of players living outside of Brunswick.
 
** Tryout dates/times are as follows **
10u\12U
Monday, July 23rd - 6:30pm - Mooney Field #1
Saturday, August 11th - 9am - Mooney Field #4

14U
Monday, July 23rd - 6:30pm - Lower Neura Field
Monday, July 30th - 6:30pm -  Lower Neura Field

18u
Saturday, August 11th - 9am -  Lower Neura Field
Saturday, August 18th - 9am -  Lower Neura Field

** A few things to note about the tryouts **
 - Registration will be 1/2 hour prior to the tryout time so please come early and register.
- You will be asked to fill out a registration form and a liability waiver prior to the tryout.
- There will be a parent meeting prior to each tryout to go over what the travel program is and what will be required from each player throughout the year.
- The goal is have teams will be selected by August 30th, 2018.
- All players, even ones that played on a team this year, are required to tryout.

Some teams, including the 14U Emerald Necklace “A” level team, may require players to be available to play in tournaments on weekends.  Weekend availability will be a question on the registration form and may affect which team you are placed on.

Not all players will make a team.  We will do our best to place players on teams of equivalent talent levels, but the BYS Travel program has grown tremendously over the past few years and attracts players from all over the surrounding areas.  Preference will be given to Brunswick players but each team may carry a limited number of non-residents on their roster.
